Author: Rosa

Hello, everyone. Long time no see, have you guys been eating well? So for the past few weeks, I have been travelling a lot in Sydney CBD due to the location of my job. As I went back home, I always happen to encounter a new places to dine or to grab a little bite. This week, I am going to review some good eateries that I went to in the Sydney CBD area which are not so expensive and fancy but their food will satisfy your palate. Without further delay, let's dive in!

The Popular Pork Bowl in Cho Dumpling King in Haymarket

I was just getting off work with my colleague, Gladys, when both of us accidentally heard each other's stomachs rumbling, so we decided to have dinner together. Then the most difficult question in the human history came to us, "Where should we eat? What do you want to eat?" We argued about this questions for about 20 minutes before we headed to her favourite place, Cho Dumpling King.

Located in Prince Centre, Quay St, Haymarket, only few blocks away from the city market, my friend told me that this place is very popular with their pork bowl and everyone is lining up every time you come there. She was not lying, by the time we arrived, there were already a couple of old ladies and a young man queuing in front of the small entrance of the restaurant. This place serves classic Taiwanese mince pork rice as their main menu, a side dish to complete your meal and soup as well as a value meal in the bento box.

We ordered the Taiwanese Set Meals, which customers can have their popular pork bowl along with their choice of the Cho's Special side dish and drink by only spending around $13 to $15. We picked the authentic Taiwanese smoked pork sausage and popular crispy fillet chicken as our side dishes. I am honestly not a biggest fan of pork meat, however the pork bowl is exceptional. The savoury taste of the tender pork just melts in your mouth, even if you only eat it with the warm white rice. The side dish is also incredibly yummy as it makes you want to have another bowl of rice to finish them all.

The set meals is served in two portions, small and large. I recommend you to order the small portion if you are not a big eater, because the small portion can really fill your stomach, satisfying your appetite. I would give this place 4.5/5 stars, with the only issue being the restaurant is cramped to accomodate all enthusiast, but overall the place has good food that is worth your money. I will definitely come back to this place to try other side dishes, soups, and beverages. I might even see you there!

The Newest Dessert Trend in Sydney - Fujimi Dorayaki, Regent Place, CBD

People say, "We always have room for desert".  That statement is not wrong. Who will reject a good dessert anyway? Especially when the dessert comes from your favourite childhood cartoon, Doraemon? I am over the moon when I first found out about the opening of this dessert store.
Many people might not be familiar with the concept of Dorayaki (銅鑼焼)but it is basically a round-shaped castella pancake filled in with variant sweet fillings such as red bean, Nutella, peanut cream, ice cream and many more. Dorayaki is a Japanese sweet snack which has been around from samurai age and has become popular as it came out as favourite food of the main character of Doraemon cartoon series, Doraemon. This explains why there are so many Doraemon action figures that decorate the store display. More than just the food, I really enjoy the experience of witnessing how Dorayaki is made while waiting for your order to be made on the spot. Fujimi Dorayaki also serves juices and smoothies which will cleanse your taste buds after all the sweetness. Check more menus and price in the picture above, and explore my adventure with short video below. This has been a great time, Ciao!
