Chocolate Mousse Recipe
Author: Josh D
Hey food adventurers!
Today I will be sharing my mum's chocolate mousse recipe. Chocolate Mousse is my favourite dessert as it has that nice soft texture along with chocolate goodness. This recipe does not have an alcohol in it, meaning that it is safe for kids to eat or even if you do not consume alcohol. It does not take that long to make, however you have to wait for it to set for a minimum of three hours. Note that the longer you wait for it to set, the tastier it will be.
Ingredients:
- 125g chocolate (Milk or White chocolate)
- 4 eggs
- 25g sugar (x2)
- 375ml litres fresh cream-whipping cream
- 2-3 tsp gelatine dissolved in boiling water
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave
- Beat the egg whites till it forms peaks and add 25g sugar beat a little bit more
- Beat egg yolks and add 25g sugar
- Whip the cream
- Fold egg whites and the yolks adding whipped cream
- Add melted chocolate
- Add the gelatine and mix well
- Pour the mix to a bowl/dish and refrigerate for 3 hours
You can sprinkle a little bit of grated chocolate on top of the mousse or even pipe some whipped cream for the extra flavour.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
