Main Ingredient
  • 400gr of Spaghetti

Meatball

  • 350gr minced beef
  • 1/4 clove of brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed and minced (I personally like garlicy flavour so I add 3 cloves of garlic)
  • 1 egg
  • 30gr of bread crumb
  • Chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes to taste
  • 1 spoon of olive oil

Sauce

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, halved, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 3/4 Bottle of Pasta Sauce

Finishing Ingredients
  • Finely chopped fresh continental parsley
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Dried Mixed Italian Herbs

Protip:

You can season the bread crumbs with any herb. I seasoned mine with the dried Italian mixed herbs to make it more aromatic.

Let’s get it Start:

1. Make the meatball: Combine the minced beef, onion, breadcrumbs, garlic and egg in a large bowl. Season it with salt and pepper to taste. Use your hand to mix until combined. Add the olive oil and mix it again. Roll 1 tablespoonful of the mixed meat and make it into ball shaped. Place it on a plate or tray.

 2. Heat one spoon of olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Place the meatball and cook, tuning, for 8 minutes or until the color change into golden brown and cooked through. Transfer it to a plate.

3. Make the sauce: Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and stir it for 3 minutes or until it turns golden brown and aromatic.

4. Add the pasta sauce, increase heat to high until it boils. Reduce heat to low. Add the salt and pepper to taste and some dried herbs to make it aromatic. Add the meatballs and simmer it gently, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens and the meatballs are heated through.

5. Spaghetti: Boil a litre of water in a saucepan, sprinkle a bit of salt. Bring it to boil. Add the spaghetti and cook it until al dente

6. Add the parsley to the sauce, stir until well combined.

7. Stir the spaghetti and serve it with the sauce.  Add a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and mixed italian herbs. and Done! Serve immediately.

Glossary:

Al dente /ælˈdɛnteɪ/ (Italian pronunciation: [al ˈdɛnte]) is an Italian word that describes pasta or rice that is coked to be firm to the bite. It identifies the ideal consistency for pasta and involves a brief cooking time. Usually about 7-8 minutes in medium-high heat.
